Admission Procedure
Applications for admission will be considered throughout the year for Creche to Year 12 (SS 3).
To apply for admission, please follow the steps outlined below.
Placement Test
After picking up our form at the admission office, students are tested on their literacy and numeracy skills with their age and year-level considered. Pick up our form here
Application Review
Our Admissions Committee reviews the assessment results and previous school records in accordance with the school’s admission criteria.
Decision
The school makes a decision as to whether or not the applicant may register.
Parents visit the school to gather information about the school and its curriculum. During the school tour, all parents have a firsthand look at the school, its facilities, and the classrooms.
Parents are informed that the student(s) must take a placement test to assess the competence in English and Mathematics. The placement test is free of cost.
- For Nursery 1 till Year 6, applicants must achieve at least 50% on the placement test.
- For Year 7 till Year 10, applicants must achieve at least 60% on the placement test.
All Candidates must purchase the students Application Form and submit the official Cedar Grows application form. The Application Form can be purchased from the School Admissions Office, during normal office hours. The form must be supplemented with the other documents as prescribed by the admission officer. Parents of prospective students must complete the full application form with all necessary documentation before the Admissions Committee is able to review the application.
Step 2 Application review by the Admissions Committee
Our admissions committee will review the application in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria. Factors taken into account include:
– Age of applicant
– Class size
– Previous school records
– Siblings
– Nationality and ethnicity
– Admissions assessment results and academic ability
– Involvement in school life beyond the academic programme, i.e. extracurricular activities
– Learning and social behaviour
– Interview
– Placement test results
The school reserves the right to decline an application if the student does not meet the criteria above.
The assessments consider age and year level appropriate literacy and numeracy skills.
After reviewing the assessment results and school records, the school will make a decision as to whether or not the applicant may register.
Please note that the evaluation assessment materials and the results of the assessment are confidential and are considered to be the property of the school; parents will not be entitled to the original or a copy.
Families will be notified as soon as possible of the admission decision, and it is after this notification that actual registration may take place. Once a place has been offered, families have a limited period, which will be specified by the school, in which to accept it. If the place is accepted families must supply the following:
– Registration fee
– Tuition fees and deposit must be paid within two weeks of the date of acceptance or the child may lose his or her place.
– All fees must be paid prior to the first day of school attendance.
Admission to the school does not guarantee student enrolment beyond the initial year, which will be dependent on the maintenance of satisfactory levels of progress and behaviour.
Class groups are established at the discretion of the school.

– The payment/discount will be made once the new student has successfully joined the school and paid the school fees. The discount may be withdrawn, if the recommended student withdraws from the school within the first term of the academic year.
